Sketch Saturday

Well it's Wednesday, and my dearest other half is due back from his work offshore at some today or tomorrow, and he complains that I spend so much time in my little craft haven, and he never sees me, so I will continue making cards and will post them as much as I can when he is back, but it probably won't be every day, (darn it, I'll be having withdraw symptoms), anyway onto todays card...............

I've used the sketch provided over on Sketch Saturday to make this card.

Monday, 12 January 2009

Thank goodness !!

Well thank goodness today is almost over, its been a nightmare, I offered to babysit for a friend today and well the wee one screamed and screamed all day infact the only time she wasn't screaming was when she was asleep, have never been so glad to see a child go home before, on top of that Adam has two clubs on a Monday for the time being he's at football, then home for tea, a quick change and back out to Beavers, what with school and nursery runs I feel like I am attached to the house with a bit of Bungee cord.

Then to top it all the roads department are digging huge great big holes in the road to bring the drains upto local authority standard, considereing we live on a new private housing estate you would have thought the builders could have ensured they had them done right in the first place.

Ok rant over for today, my card today is for Wendys sketch challenge on Crafters Comapnion, she also posts the sketches to her blog .....

I have used a Magnolia stamp, Shock I know, but I love these stamps and as you will probably discover I do have a few, the bench she is sat on is also a Magnolia stamp, the images have been coloured with promarkers, the papers again I couldn't begin to guess where I got them apart to say they were in my paper drawer, circles punched from scrap card and a few small gems from my stash along with the peel off sentiment.

Right off to bed and hopefully tmorrow will bring a better brighter day, and I'm sure a few more holes in the middle of the street. lol.

PINK

Well Pinks really not my thing.

I've never been a girlie girl, i think it may have something to do with growing up on a farm and always being out and about with my dad getting covered in mud and all sorts of stuff, give me my jeans and trainers anyday and i'm happy, but over on Carisma Cards which is a new challenge blog they set the challenge to do anything we like as long as its pink, so came up with this ....................

I have used another Sugar Nellie stamp, this one is called luvvie and has been designed by Leanne Ellis, she has been coloured in with promarkers and the card and papers are all outs and ends from my bit bow, (with thankfully is beginning to look less stuffed full), I know a little boy who has already said he wants to give this to his girlfriend on valentines day, so have added his favourite saying "love you"

I wonder what tomorrow will bring, apart from spending more money on the pre orders of gorjuss girls at funky kits and the spring kit over at Whiff Of Joy, must i just gotta have them xxx

Finally success it's actually let me load my picture YIPPEEEE, and Yes I have preordered the Spring Kit from Whiff Of Joy.

Saturday all over again

Well what can I say about today, well firstly am so glad the boys are in bed because Conner has been a complete and utter nightmare child today, he didn't want breakfast, he didn't want to go out, he didn't want juice, in fact all he has done all day is say NO NO NO, and hit, puck and kick poor Adam.
Anyway have managed to pull together this card for the Whiff Of Joy Challenge, the only rule is that you must use a Whiff Of Joy Stamp, as I am a bit addicted to Elisabeth Belles artwork, well lets say I have a few!!!!!

The image is Willow with Cookies and it has been coloured in with promarkers, and been matted and layerd onto some DCVW card stock, and some pearlescent card. the flowers ahve some clear gems attched in their centres.

Anyway off to craft for half an hour or maybe a bit longer...................

Friday, 9 January 2009

Can you believe it's the weekend already, this week has flown past so quickly.

Adam (who is only 6) had his girlfriend round for tea tonight, and she is literally the girl next door, bless them they were as good as gold, and so well behaved and polite, shame they won't stay that way, lol.

Todays card is using the sketch from this weeks Stash and Sketch challenge, you have to use some of your latest stash purchases and create a card using the sketch provided, well what was I to use becasue since christmas I've had a bit of a mad spending spree, but I opted for my new Sugar Nellie Stamps of Karate Luca and Skate Board Luca and put them together on a boys card, I don't do many boys cards but his year I aim to do more,

The images have been coloured using promarkers, and matted onto orange and black card, the backing paper is from Papermania For Him collection, which I have to say I have used quite a lot of, the peeloffs and mirri board from my stash boxes.

Right off to bed, we are suppose to have rugby training in the moening but have a feeling the pitches will be frozen solid.

Thursday, 8 January 2009

Just a short quick post this evening, as I have a splitting headache, i've had it all day and nothing seems to shift it, so will be having an early night me thinks........

Todays card is one I have put together for a friends daughter who is 5 next week, I have again used Daisy from Sugar Nellie (I really like this stamp), coloured her with promarkers and have used yellow bazzil to co ordinate with the green flower glittered card I found in the bottom of my bit box......

Wonder what tomorrow will bring ..

Wednesday, 7 January 2009

Mid Week Already

Well it's Wednesday already, Adam is shattered this wek already with being back at school and his clubs that he goes to, although Conner got the day off nursery today, after standing outside the door for 10 minutes in the freezing cold, the door opened to be informed that there was no electricty within the building and that the kids would all have to go home, great, just what I needed not ........

Conner and Adam had there little dragons tonight and Conner finally got his white Dragon outfit, and then refused to wear it, KIDS !!!!!! Never mind they are now sound asleep in bed and I have managed to complete the following card.....

I have used the sketch from this weeks A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge, and my new Sweet and Sassy Sugar Nellie Stamp has been coloured in with promarkers, I used my new set of nesties to mat and layer her in the oval, a few flower punches into co-ordinating papers to make the flowers whjich are finished off with small adhesive gems, ribbons and peel offs from stash, and I can honestly say I have no idea where the backing paper came from.

Tuesday, 6 January 2009

Ahhhhh It's so Cold

Can't get over how cold it is just now, was glad didn't have to do school run this morning, as Adam was going in with his best friend and Conner wasn't in until lunchtime. I suppose I shouldn't complain really we are in the north east of Scotland and it is january after all.

Feeling proud of myself as I still haven't missed a day of my new blog, aim to post every day this year, card or no card I will make a comment.

Todays card is using the sketch as posted on Mojo Monday, anything goes as long as you follow the sketch, so gave it a bash and came up with this.....................

SHOCK i know, I haven't used a nellie stamp, today I choose to use one from Murrey and Ethel 2 by Creative Expressions, the sentiment is also from the same collection, the image has been coloured with my beloved promarkers, the card is from a Crafters Companion selection pack and the background paper is from a Papermania pack called For Him, the brads, eyelets and ribbon are all from my odd bits stash.

Was very impressed today with the service from Funky Kits I ordered stamps late Sunday night and they were here early this morning, fantastic speed, so be warned new stamps = more nellie images, although have to admit had to get some of the new Leanne Ellis images too.

Monday, 5 January 2009

Schools Back

What a shock to the system it was this morning when the alarm clock went off at 6am, we've all got use to long lazy mornings in bed over the holidays, woke the boys up at 7am and they were both less than impressed with the idea of getting up for school/nursery, never mind off they went with a spring in there steps after loads of breakfast.
And did I get to craft????

The answer to that being NO, spent the day clearing out their bedrooms and ironing, but at least I can safely say its done now.

This evening I have inked and stamped up some of my new nellies that have been sitting since before christmas and am off to colour them all in and get them ready for my next batch of cards, I have managed to put this card together for the Sketch Saturday challenge,

Just for a change NOT, I've used a Suger Nellie stamp, this is called Daisy, and I think she's sooo sweet, the papers are DCVW (from my bit box again), Daisy has been coloured with promarkers, all other bits were found in my stash of goodies that I just have to keep adding too.

Right off to colour in some more Nellies, and stalk Mrs Postman again tomorrow see if she has any goodies for me.

Sunday, 4 January 2009

Well thats the weekend over, and back to normal tomorrow, boys will not be happy having to get out of bed at 7am, they've become such sleepy boys over the holidays............... never mind Adam is looking forward to getting back to school, not so in Conners case (oh the joys).
Having spent this afternoon, cleaning house and having a good tidy out, the bucket is now over flowing, but the down stairs rooms look much better.
I've managed to put together this card, I've used Wendys first sketch of 2009 as set on her blog and on Crafters Companion, Wendy sets a new sketch challenge every Saturday, pop over and have a peek,

Again I've used A good Read stamp from Sugar Nellie, and she's been coloured with promarkers, the paper was from Dovecrafts Kate Knight A Hint of Pink Collection (although the sheet I used had no pink on it), and everything else was from my stash.

Anyway better go and feed the kids, see you all tomorrow.

Saturday, 3 January 2009

It's Saturday ......

Well finally it's Saturday and I feel that things are beginning to slip back into our normal household routine after christmas, boys back to school on Monday so that'll help greatly, the house will no longer look like theres been an explosion in a toy shop.

The postman arrived this morning with some new crafting goodies, got a couple sets of new nestabilites and another embossing folder for my cuttlebug, building up quite a collection now.
I managed to make this card this evening, after a rather long afternoon with my mother.

I've used a Sugar Nellie stamp, (can you tell I'm a bit addicited to the Sugar Rush) this is Elisabeth Belles artwork called On A Rope Swing, I've had this stamp since it was released and am ashamed to say I've only just got round to inking her up, but I have to say I love her, she's sweet, she has been coloured in with promarkers, the papers again from my bit box(feeling quite happy with myself for using some of these bits up at last), and the flowers, gems and peel offs are from my stash box.

I've also managed to put this one together for the Monthly Card Swap on Crafters Companion, this month we had to make a shaped card, being a bit of a stamper this wasn't my thing, but after a long hard think I came up with this,

I used some old number templates and placed them together, drew round them and hand cut, yes hand cut round them, them repeated onto the black card and silver mirri board, then decorated the numbers with some silver peel offs, matted and layered some card and star paper to make the background.

Does this qualify as a shaped card??????

Friday, 2 January 2009

Just one more day and its the weekend.

Well the house is looking a bit bare, i've taken down all the decorations and packed them away for another year, found glitter and sparkly bits all over the floor, and for a change it wasn't from my card making, the boys have spent the day playing in their rooms as I have finally managed to find homes for their new toys and games, note to self more storage boxes are needed.

My aim for January as I said yesterday is to make as many cards this month as I can from the bits I have in my bit box, so with that in mind i came up with this card
I have used another Sugar Nellie stamp, this one is called A Good Book, and is designed by Elisabeth Bell, she has been coloured with my promarkers, I can't remember where the papers came from, apart to say they were in my bit box, even the mirra card was in the bit box, ribbon and flower from my wee stash.

Thursday, 1 January 2009

2009, Hope It's a Good One.

Happy New Year to everyone out there in blogland, may it be a Happy and Joyous one for you all.
Well its 1st January again, and I am guessing that many of you out there are waking this morning with a headache, not me this year, I stayed in alone, the two boys were in bed by 9pm, and Errol was offshore, it was actually really nice and peaceful, well that was until midnight when there was fireworks going off all around us, luckily the boys slept straight through until 9am this morning, although it would have been nice if they had slept longer as I didn't get to bed until 2.30am, I was crafting and blogging, I couldn't wait for the first Sugar Bowl challenge to be set, so at 12.30 I was on line and eager to get started, Tiets has set the first challenge and its a sketch, the rules are that you must use a Sugar Nellie image, which isn't that difficult for me as I have a huge stash of them, and am eagerly awaiting the next batch, I love Elisabeth Bells artwork and designs.

My aim for Januray is to use as much papers as I can out of my bit box, as it is an ever expanding one at the moment.

This is what I came up with at 1.00am this new years day,

For this card I have used one of the very first Sugar Nellie stanps I bought on a chance visit to the Home of Sugar in Elgin, its Neliie with Crochet hat and Scarf, the papers if i remember correctly are Papermania - Raspberry Champagne Collection, also purchased at Papercrafts in Elgin, have finished of with some cardstock, a few some gems and a matching bloom from my little stash.

Right then, we're having a quiet day in fromt of tele and computer, and I guess i'll manage to get some more cards done thisa afternoon, yippee.
