A dear Friends Birthday Card

It was a dear friends birthday recently and as she now has received this card I thought I'd share it with you all now as well, it's a bit of a joke as her own husband had her down as being a year older than she actually was, cardinal sin I know, poor man, fingers crossed he gets it right next year, as its a big one next year.

I thought I'd risk it and use my Ethel and Murray stamps to make her card, its been a while since I had these out, and have to say I'd forgotten how great they are, and the sentiments are fantastic as well, my other half thought I might come back with my head in my hands when he say the card, but I have to say she liked the card and I am here to tell the tale (well until her next birthday anyway hahahahaha)

Used to make this card

Image - Ethel and Murray Collection from creative expressions
Coloured with - Copics
DP - Bo Bunny
Sentiments - Ethel and Murray collection
Ribbon and Charm from stash
EK Success daisy punches and Martha Stewart Leaf punch
And a bit of bling to finish the card

Well thats it for today, off to tackle some of the dreaded H word, ironing needs done but I'm afraid the fairy must have lost my address as she's not been and waved her wand in a long time, hahaha.

Thanks for looking

Less Is More Wk 9

Another new challenge was posted up at LESS IS MORE on Saturday morning, the fab Chrissie and Mandi have given us a sketch to use this week and asked that we use a DL card this week, this is a card I use to use a lot but recently have got back into the square cards, so this challenge really suited me.

This is what I have come up with this week.....

Used to make this card .....

Image - Ma Casa from Hero Arts
Coloured with - Prismas
Cuttlebug and Nestabilites
Creative Expressions embossing folder
Vintage photo distress ink
Ribbon - Papercraft Boutique, Elgin

I could have sworn I had a lovely sentiment stamp that says New Home, but I have hunted high and low for it and it still seems to have disappered into the black hole of crafting goodies, whats the bets it turns up in the next few days when I no longer need it.

Thats it for today, as we are off out tonight we're taking the two boys to see X Factor tour, and they are both so excited already.

Sugar Nellie Facbook Challenge Week 9

Oh me how the time is flying, i got rather lost at the weekend, the boys had gradings for their kick boxing and Conner lso had a dragons grading, so we were kept busy running them around everywhere, nevermind, on the upside they passed them all and came home with new colour belts, so proud of them both.

Sunday means time for another new challenge over at SUGAR NELLIE on facebook, and as its Mothers Day in the UK on Sunday I was thinking flowers, flowers and more flowers, so this week I asked the girls to come up with creations with flowers, any sort of flowers they could be part of your image, punched, handmade or bought, the choice is yours, the only thing you must use is a Sugar Nellie image of your choice, any range and any stamp from the vast colllection of Nellies.

This is the card I came up with ..

Used To Make The Card

Image - Hippie Love from Sugar Nellie/Funky Kits
Coloured with - Promarkers/Copics and Prismas
DP - Bo Bunny
Sentiment - Personnal Impression
Swirl Stamp - Personnal Impressions
Ek Success Daisy punchs, Stampin Up punches
Cardstock - The Paperterie and DCWV
And a little bit of bling

I think this is my favourite image from the latest collection of Simply Sassy images, I just love the look of her, and her hair, she really is a Hippie girl of the 60's, and no I'm not old enough to remember them x

Wasn't sure about the colours to start with, but am really happy with the finished card, now off to finish the insert and get it bagged up.

Thanks for looking

Thursday 24 March 2011

Happy Thursday girls, thought today I'd share my card from Sundays with Santa, we're a small group of like minded crafters who are determined not to be caught out in December and be making christmas cards right upto the last minute, so we get together on a Sunday and make a Christmas card every week, hence the name of our wee group Sundays with Santa.

This week I thought I'd try something simple and hopefully you'll think stylish too I rather like it, but then I am a little biased of course. I really did stayt with the simple and no fuss for this card.

Used to make this card.

Sentiment - Paula Pascal set
Stamped in - Broken Chine Distress Ink
Ribbon - Local craft shop
Cardstock - The Paperterie
Used Cuttlebug and a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder

In fact I liked the finished design of this card so much I made another 5, so I now have a set of 6 in this colour and I think I'm going to make more but try them out in different coloues and ribbons, these were so simple and so easy to do, they could be on a lot of fireplaces and walls come christmas this year.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to visit and blog and feel free to leave me some comments I am trying harder this week to come and visit you all.

Less is More - Week 7

Good Morning, Its Tuesday and that for me means its time to share my card for the fantastic LESS IS MORE challenge blog, if you've not yet popped over and joined in the fun, this could be the week that you take the plunge and join the craze of simplicity at its best, this week Chrissie and Mandi have really had me scratch my head, not only do they want simplicity like every wekk but this week they want
MASCULINE
as well, well i've had a bash and this is what I've come up with.....

I've really loved playing along in this new venture, and this week was no difference, although it did take a lot longer than I had imagined it would to produce this card, as the first few attempts went in the bin as I wasn't happy with the layouts at first, so after several different compostitions I think I've got there.

Used to Make this Card

Images - Create a scene by Creative Expression
Stamped in - Vintage Photo Distress Inl
Sentiment - Visiable Images
Cardstock - The Paperterie

Right then I better move and get the kids to school and tackle some housework, as I was out at card class last night and had a great evening, and am hoping to get out to bead class later in the week, so its heads down and tackle Adams bedroom he's just got new more grown up furniture and a new bed, so its now time to tackle all the toys and books and find homes for them all

Sugar Nellie On facebook Week 8

Happy Sunday Girls, can you believe thats another week over, this time next week we will be in british summer time, looking forward to the longer evenings and the warmer temperatures, although I have to say today was really lovely, a real spring day in the North East of Scotland and could I get my boys outside for a while, well eventually with a bit of kicking and screaming, and hiding the laptop as well. LOL.

Anyway Sunday means its time for another new challenge to keep your crafty fingers nimble, over at Sugar Nellie on Facebook, and this week I was raking my brains on what to set this week, I have a list of ideas and a list of cards I need to make for orders and for family birthdays so I have tried to tick something off both lists this week, and I think I've done it, by this week asking you all to make

A CHILDS CARD

Used to make this card

Stamp - Little Farmer from Sugar Nellie/Funky Kits
Coloured with - Promarkers and Copics
DP - DCWV A guys Stack
Cardstock - The Paperterie
I have used my Cricut and George cartridge to cut the "2 Today"

I have to admit I love this image, coming from a farming background, having two boys, and two little nephews who are totally tractor mad, this image was a huge must have for me, I can assure you this sweet little rubber image is going to be inked up so many times.

I really hope you all take the time to come over and join us this week at Sugar Nellie on facebook and you could be the winner of a rubber stamp of your choice.

Sundays are Santa day

Good Morning It's Thursday, and I thought today I'd blog my Sundays with Santa card from the wee facebook group that has been going for several weeks now just for fun and to get those christmas cards underway.....

This week when the theme was posted up as Pink and Brown, I was like no way can I do a christmas card in Pink and Brown and after several images being thrown into the recycling bucket, I finally came up with this weeks card, which for me is very clean and very simple, but I love it and am reproducing a few of them for my friends this christmas........

Something different for me, as I normally do square cards, but thought I'd go back to my old favourite DL cards, and I think it works quite well on this size of card,

Used to make this card

Stamps - Paula Pascal Set for Personnal Impression
Sentiment - Personnal Impression
Ink used - Stampin up
And a drop or three of stickles on the baubles as Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a little sparkle.

Thats it for this card, very simple.
