THE SUGAR BOWL - BLUE

Evening all, Its he last week of the boys summer holiday so I took them out for a treat to the cinema, they choose to see Mr Poppers Penguins, and lets say it was a huge hit, but then 6 cute penguins and Jim Carey it couldn't be anything other than a huge hit, we all loved it, then took the boys to tea with my BFF and her girls, so heres a piccie of me, my boys and my BFFS two girls........

Anyway I guess I better tell you about my card for this weeks SUGAR BOWL, Gayle and her sweeties have challenged us with a fantastic sketch from Maria, with the optional theme of BLUE, so heres my 1st card..... long story but we set Cathy Wallington the challenge of at least 4 cards for the challenge in the next two weeks, so thought I'd better show willing and try and do four as well..... so heres my SUGAR BOWL card.......

Excuse my photography but the card is straight its just the photo that makes it appear squint.....

I was going to go down my usual road of using flowers but then thought, No Fiona, lets do something differnt so went with making the rossette on this card.....just something different.

Sugar Bowl again

Well over on the SUGAR NELLIE facebook page, our Sugar Mamma make a joke about Cathy Wallington and Fiona Robertson having to make at least 6 entries in the 4 weeks the challenge was running, and well they both rose to the occasion and exceeded all our wildest believes, they both hit 9 cards if not more and each card was totally outstanding, so in the last few days they've been egging us other girlies to try and match them, well theres no way I can reach that number in that short a period of time, but I've had another bash and came up with this card..........

I have coloured this card with some of the Spectrum Noirs from Crafter Companion, and I'll say I think I'm defo a promarker girl, these pens are going to take a lot of getting use too.

Heres a wee close up on this stunning Sassy Girl, Pillow Talk from Funky Kits

I have kept this card simple with lots of white to highlight the bright pink hair, Cathy I hope you are impressed with all this pink.....think I might be a convert to PINK.

Used to make this card

Coloured with - Spectrum Nior
Cardstock - Rymans
Embossing Folders, flower punches, MS leave punch and a bit of bling

LOTV Birthday Bear

Ok I have finally given in and purchased some LOTV stamps, kept telling myself I really didn't need any more, but I went looking for a martial arts boys stamp and of course I found the LOTV release and well I had to have another few whilst there, all from their male sets, so looking for an excuse to use them wasn't hard when one of my boys came home with a party invite, for a wee boys 7th birthday party, so I let Conner have a rummage in the stamp box and this is the one he wanted to use, I think the 7 swung it for him.

I let him choose all the colours as well since it was for his best friend, who i think you can guess is called Ben, lol.

Used to make this card...

Image - Lily of the Valley Birthday Bear
Coloured with - Promarkers
Cardstock - The Papertrae
Sentiment - Personal Impressions
Letters cut using sizzlets and cuttlebug.

I love the colours and I have to say Conners your choices turned out quite awesome, and Bens mummy said he loved having his name on a card, and it had pride of place on the fireplace.

Anyway better move, its getting late and the Conner has his school trip tomorrow so need to have an earlier than normal start

A couple of piccies from the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun day

A couple of weeks ago I and some friends went along to the Papertrie in Dyce for Kath, Debbi and Annes, Girls just want to have fun day. And boy did we have fun.

Heres a piccie of the talented Anne with her no sew inky bag that we all made, mine is currently pride of place hanging on my craft room wall.

Heres some of the girls applying their fabric to their bags, it was so easy and we finished in record time which meant we got first dibs on the lunch table, hahaha.

This is my dear friend Linda proudly showing her bag off.

Now I know Debbi will be after me for these pictures, she did request that I airbrush them but sorry Debs I ain't clued up on that side on the photoshopping software, so heres our Debz in full swing with the promarkers.

Now I sneaked this picture I did try and get Mrs Sugar Nellies picture but I am sure she has a built in camera radar as she just kept moving, Erika on the other hand was so carried away getting inky with Kath that we managed to snap her piccie

Well I know I'm in trouble for posting this one, but Linda I just had to I couldn't resisit haha

And finally I thought I'd share my creeation from Kaths table, this was an all new experience and I have to admit I rather liked it lol, and will defo be having another bash at this type of altered art again x

This wee I went with one of the Sassy girls from ther Steampunk collection, but have choosen to do her in Classic greys and blacks, was sort of thinking it might be for my nieces 18th birthday in a couple of months (oh me I feel so old to have an 18 year old niece), so enough waffling and heres my card........

SUGAR NELLIE on FACEBOOK - BUTTERFLIES

Good Afternoon and Happy Easter to you all, I hope the Easter Bunny left lots of treats for you all this morning, my two slept in this morning, so they not yet founf all the eggs hidden round the house/garden but I am sure it ain't going totake them long to sniff them all out, hahahaha.
Anyway Sunday means its a new challenge at SUGAR NELLIE ON FACEBOOK, and this week I was inspired by the fabby new stamp PIGTAILS AND BUTTERFLIES, so I bet you've guessed this week theme, it is

"BUTTERFLIES"

Heres my card for this week ....

Used to make this Butterfly Card ...

Image - Pigtails and Butterflies from SUGAR NELLIE
Coloured with - Promarkers and Copics
DP - Tim Holz
Pink card - DCWV
Ribbon from my stash
Butterflies - 2 different size woodware puncges
Stickles

I have to admit I think this is one of the best from Krista yet, but then I say that about every one of them when I ink it up, hahaha, anyway the rules are simples, you must use a SUGAR NELLIE image on your creation (any stamp you want does not have to be a Sassy can be any from the wide range that SUGAR NELLIE have brought to us addicts over the years) and your creation this week must have a butterfly on it, its up to you how you use your butterflies, but I want to see them fluttering away girls.

I didn't go over the top with papers on this one and have gone pink and girlie this week, and I promise you all I am not a pink and girlie girl, but I have to admit to fallen for the Tim Holtz paper stack and have been using it a lot recently.

Anyway the sun is a shining and I am off to get some of the dreaded housework out the way before taking the boys out for a walk later today might even remember to take my camera with me this week and get some fab sunny snaps of the boys.

Anyway challenge is now open until 12 (noon) GMT on Sunday 1st May, if you qant to join and aren't on facebook just leave me a comment and I'll send you my email so you to can be in with the chance of adding a SUGAR NELLIE of your choice to your collection.

A couple of weeks ago our little group (Sundays with Santa) set the weekly challenge as MONOCHROME, well I have finally got round to making my card, as this was the week we were away and I am slowly catching up with my cards etc, so this is my MONOCHROME card.

I have tried to keep it simpe as I think this CLARITY stamp set really doesn't need anything more.

Used to make this card

Tree Stamp - Clarity Stamps
Sentiment - Clarity Stamps
Cardstock - Paperterie
Ink - Memento Bamboo Leaves
And a lirrle stickles to make the trees sparkle

And thats it, it is a larger card on an 8" sqaure base, so think I'm going to head off and make another few of these now as well
