SUGAR NELLIE ON FACEBOOK - WEEK 3 ALREADY

Good Afternoon, hope you've had a great weekend, we've had a nice quiet one as the boys are off to nannies until Monday afternoon, so had feet up, relaxing and crafting, its been nice but at the same time so strange also, anyway its given me a chance to clear my crafty desk and post some cards onto my blog, starting with this weeks new challenge on FACEBOOK for SUGAR NELLIE, this week I have gone nice and easy and asked the girls to create an easel card, any shape, any colour, any style, just the one condition it must contain a Sugar Nellie Image, so as usual to hopefully inspire and push some of you in the right direction I've created this one....

Image - Fashionista, a Simply Sassy from SUGAR NELLIE
Coloured with - Promarkers and a little bit of prismas
DP - Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby (loving this stack right now)
Sentiment - Computer generated
Flowers made with the EK success punches
Leaves - L-em Punch
And to finish a bit of bling in the centres of the flowers.

There are many different shapes and styles to easel cards now, and I ove the traditional square type ones, but this time i have gone with the twisted easel card, after seeing the card Marlene did a week or so ago, thought it was time I gace this style a bash, and actually I quite like it, so thanks Mrlene for the push in the right direction.

Anyway thats me for just now, off to try and schedule a few more posts for through the week.

Sundays with Santa - Family Christmas

It's Friday again girls,
Thought I'd share this card I made our wee group on Facebook, theres a few crafty friends got together and are aiming to make a christmas card every week, and once again I have another one ticked off the huge list, this week I set the theme and picked a FAMILY CHRISTMAS, mmm well at the time seemed like a good idea but certainly made me have a good long think about how I was gong to tackle it, so after a long rummage I found this POPCORN THE BEAR stamp, which I have to admit had never been cut out, infact the packaging had never been opened, so decided to get him out and inked,

Heres what I came up with...

As you will see I currently have a thing for Easel cards, and White.
Stamp - Popcorn The Bear Christmas Set
Coloured with - Promarkers and Prismas
Background Trees Stamp - Stamping Up
Merry Christmas Stamp - Personnal Impression
Special Nephew - Craftwork cards,

Name was cut using a Sizzlet set,
And to finish a bit of sparkle with my good old Stickles

Well am happy to say I am enjoying the christmas cards still and may have a bash at another couple with week,

xx Thanks for looking xx

Morning Girls,

Todays card I am sharing with you all was my creation for the facebook group called Sundays with Santa, the aim of which is to save us all running round like headless chickens in October and November trying to batch make all our cards, so far so good for me, and am still actually quite liking the fact that I am making christmas cards in January (fingers crossed I can keep it up).

Anyway this week the ubber talented Ali set the theme of White Christmas, which if you know Ali will come as no surprise what so ever as she really is the Queen of WOW cards.
So what does white christmas mean to me, well you can't have a white chrsitmas without some of the dreaded white stuff that in December brought the UK to a standstill, yes girls you all know what i mean, SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this is my White Christmas card

Used to make my card

Image - Snow Cosy from Sugar Nellie
Coloured with - Promarkers
Sentiment - Paula Pascal from Personnal Impressions
Cuttlebug and snowflake embossing folder
Snowflake punch from woodware and some bling and stickles.

Sundays with Santa, what better way to spend an hour or two.....

Oh me , can't believe its taken so long to get back to blogging, this year is racing past and I've not posted a card yet, I know, I know, slap my fingers, I have been playing and colouring just not been able to get round to posting until now, so todays Sunday and over on facebook Pops, has set up a page called Sundays with Santa, where every week we will be making a christmas card so that hopefully come November we are all ahead of the game and not running round like headless chickens, so thought that I should join in.. so heres my first christmas card of 2011.....
.

Every week there will be a theme set, well when I saw PINK for my first week of joining in I was like OH NO!!!!!!!!!! of all the things they could have picked PINK, its so not my things at all, but after a bit of head scratching I settled upon Snowflake from Sugar Nellie, unfortunatley this stamp is no longer available but its still a firm favourite for christmas girlie cards.
Used To Make This card
Snowflake - By Sugar Nellie
Coloured with - Promarkers
Cardstock - Stash boxes
Sentiment - Paula Pascal Stamp Set
Background snowflakes stamped in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, the stamps are from the same Paula Pascal set as the sentiment.
Cuttlebug and snowflake embossing folder, snowflakes have been rubbed over with cut n dry foam and victorian velvet DI.
Snowflake punch from woodware, a couple of bling gems and a sprinkling of snow white flower soft.
Well thats it for today, off to get the iron out and tackle the school uniforms for tomorrow.
Hope you like it, its early to start thinking christmas I know, but decided to not pack my stash away this year, so I can crack on with them ....
Take Care

SUGAR NELLIE SIMPLY SASSY RD 2

Oh me I have had a right to do with round two, as Karen said to do our own thing, but my problem is whatis my own thing, a few months ago it was all colour and paper but recently I have got well and truly into CAS and WOW cards, so after a few failed attempts I have come up with two cards, and I have gone COLOUR this time as it was WOW in the last round.
The first one I am happy to share with you is a girlie one, all pink and cutesy,

For this card I have kept to the clean and simple approach as I love this image HIPPIE CHICK and the size of it is perfect to make it the real star of the card, well I think so anyway.
Used to make this card
Stamp - Hippie Chick from Sugar Nellie
Coloured with - Promarkers
DP - Bo Bunny
Cardstock - Stash Boxes
I have used chalk and a scallop punch to create the cloudy sky effect on the background, this is the first time I have tried this technique and I rather like the finished effect.
And of course no card is complete without a MS border punch.
And now for my second, I have a couple of older boys birthdays coming up early in 2011 so am getting them out the way now before mr Mojo goes on his annual xmas break.

I love this image for older boys, and I had to go COLOUR again, and colour I have used to the max I think, but as he's going to be 10 I think I can get off with it
Used To Make This card
Stamp - No 1 Fan from Sugar Nellie
Coloured with - Promarkers
DP - My Minds Eye Lil Robots pack
Sentiment - Personnal Impressions
The Label/Tag is a spellbinders Nestabilitie set which I forgot I had until recently
For both cards I went with CAS, no embellishments, just the DP and the Image, and I think for these thats all thats needed.
Anyway I hope you really like them, and if you do please please vote for me in the final round xxx
Thanks for taking the time out to visit me and please leave me a comment or two along the way.
Hugs,
Take care and stay safe in this white weather

SUGAR NELLIES WOW CARDS

OK, so i know I am last again but with the weather, kids off school, and family staying over my crafting has been well, to be honest non existent for the last couple of weeks, so today I have finally got round to doing my WOW cards for the simply sassy challenge, who isn't going to have a go and want to have the spellbinders caliber under their tree. LOL

My first card, is so simple its scary,

I have stamped directly onto the card stock and pretty much left it at that, turned it into a simple easel card, and used a sentiment stamp which I think fits the bill perfectly.

The next is featuring what I think is my favourite of the first release, she has been matted onto some embossed card stick and a sentiment added to finish

The third and final card, i thought I should use some embellishments on, so out came the punches in their masses, and I actually quite like the finished effect
Thanks Karen for making us all think white, espically when all round us outside has been whote for so long now.
Anyway good Luck everyone who has entered the challenge, and lets see who makes it through to stage 2.

Hugs and Thanks for looking.
